It is a biiit hungry on the old RAM and processor, I fear. Worth it if you have a powerful machine though. Interesting stuff.
It's good to see more and more music software starting to support Linux. I feel within 5 years linux will be a common ground for music artists like yourselves. Here is a multi-platform DAT that you could try out... http://ardour.org/

Yes I agree that it is great to see an increasingly fertile open-source and cross-platform community evolving. I have tried ardour briefly but await a comprehensive update to the apparently dodgy native OS X version. You can run it in OS X but through X11, which is a bit of a workaround really. Looks promising anyway.
Another want to check out on linux is 'LMMS' http://lmms.sourceforge.net/
Loks like it is heavily inspired by FL Studio, which can only be a good thing. cheers.
